Gorilla Glue is one of the best kinds of super-glue currently available on the market, the only method known when the gorilla (or almost any other) cracks.

How to get rid of Gorilla Glue from the skin

Though Gorilla glue is perfect for crafts, it isn’t so great for our skin. Fortunately, the glue recipe is formulated to break down with domestic solvents and a little effort.

In the following three stages, you’ll get to know how to get rid of glue from the hands and other visible skin:

1 – Wiping up

Gorilla glue dries quickly, but clean rag or towels will make cleaning easier. Try drying as long as the glue is wet as possible. Then any traces of glue should be cleaned with soapy water

2 – Vanishing

Acetone (and in particular the acetone polish-based nail remover can dissolve all forms of chemical products that present a minimum skin risk. Just take several minutes to drink the affecting skin in a few acetone. The alternative is to use cool, soapy water.

3 – Attrition / Peeling 

When you have done your utmost to extract the glue from the skin you must use an abrasive to retrieve the remainder. This can be an expoliant cosmetic gel or a combination of sea salt and oil or coconut oil.

A Finger Note

If you glue the fingers together, it might be a bit more difficult. You do not attempt to pull your fingers apart in certain conditions, since it will break your skin easily.

Take your fingers in acetone instead and try to stretch them naturally. The adhesive would finally loosen enough to split your fingertips.

How to Get Gorilla Glue Off other objects

If the skin takes a little patience, getting rid of the glue from other objects can take even better treatment. The items mentioned below can require careful precautions to replace the glue safely.

Clothes

When working with glue on fabrics, you must first let the glue dry on its own. Trying to speed up the process will create permanent stain and merely scatter it out, when attempting to clean wet glue. You will then put the fabric on a hard surface, and (unless it is a loosely woven material) you can start loosening the stick stain from the outside with your finger nail.

Acetone or lemon juice are often added to the dry adhesive immediately with a cotton ball for 15 minutes to smooth the glue. This may take a few attempts to reach the the stickiest part of the adhesive spot. 

When you have replaced much of the glue, you should wash the cloth. If a sensitive, dry-clean substance is present, add some laundry soap right on the stain and work with a toothbrush.

Use cold water and dry with a towel. Check for any signs of stain and do laundry once or twice to get rid of glue.    Hang out the fabric to dry. 

Dry washing clothes should be brought to a specialist cleaner. These shops have the tools to clear the stain safely. Make sure that you supply them with as much knowledge as possible so that they can pick the right chemicals.

Glass

Abrasives can harm the glass and require a more delicate touch. Remove the surface with acetone to loosen the glue. Check in a few minutes to see if the glue is loosened by a fingernail check.

When folded, remove the adhesive with your fingernail or a soft towel (preferably). Wipe out both streaks until the glass is smooth.

Wood

All spills on a dry cloth or paper towel can be cleaned automatically. Gorilla wood glue requires a wet towel or fabric. You should put a little thinner polish on a towel to wipe off tacky glue spots.

Use a chisel to loosen large pieces of the glue with a chisel carefully. Using fine sandpaper to neat up any residual traces.

Metal

The removal of spills from metal must be easily achieved, as the adhesive becomes more waterproof as it dries. Drain as much wet glue as possible and then try flaking off some glue with a chisel.

Using a fine sandpaper to clear any traces. Finish with any solvent rubbing, acetone or thinner paint to prevent any residue stains.

Note: It is also possible to use a heat gun on certain metals. At 215 degrees, gorilla glue starts to decay. You should only use a torch to melt the glue if the metal can take too much heat.
